Updates - 3/1/13

Your fearless leaders met last night to iron out the details and meetings for rest of the year.  Here's how it looks:
  • 3/1 (tonight) - meet at 4:30 at Kelly's house, 355 Naughright Rd.  We will finally pack up our beanies, work on our pen pal project (earning violet petal for Be a Sister to Every Girl Scout), have dinner and head together to the workshop which starts at 7 pm at Old Farmer's.  IMPORTANT: PLEASE SEND YOUR GIRL WITH A NON-PERISHABLE FOOD ITEM FOR THE LOCAL FOOD PANTRY, AND PLEASE ARRIVE AT OLD FARMER'S TO PICK UP YOUR DAUGHTER AT 8:30 PM.
  • 3/8 - meet at the Washington Township Public Library at 3:15 pm.  We will be taking a tour from 3:30 - 4:30 with Mrs. Birch (earning green petal for Using Resources Wisely).  If the weather is nice, let's plan to head to Rock Spring Park afterwards to burn off some cabin fever.
  • 3/15 - meet at BAC at 3:45 pm so we can car pool to NJ Martial Arts Academy on Sussex Tpk in Randolph.  We will be doing their "Nice Girls Rule! Mean Girls Drool" workshop (earning red petal for Courageous and Strong) from 4:30 - 5:45 pm.  Please plan to pick your girl up at BAC at 6:15 pm.
  • 4/5 - meet at BAC from 3:30 - 5:00 pm, and we will work on cards and a craft for Mrs. Penza to thank her for letting us coat her classroom in Mod Podge all year (earning magenta petal for Respect Authority)
  • 4/19 - Healthy Living Workshop 7:00 - 8:30 pm at Kossman.  Please plan do drop off and pick up your girl at Kossman.  Remember to bring a non-perishable food item for the local food pantry.
  • 5/3 - meet at BAC from 3:30 - 5:00 pm for a Bridge Preparation meeting.

IMPORTANT: PLEASE LET US KNOW YOUR AVAILABILITY FOR THE WEEKEND OF 5/17 - 5/19.  WE PLAN TO DO OUR BRIDGING CEREMONY THAT WEEKEND.   IT WILL BE AN ALL-DAY EVENT AND WE WANT ALL OUR GIRLS TO BE ABLE TO ATTEND.  FAMILIES WILL BE INCLUDED AND SHOULD CHECK THEIR AVAILABILITY AS WELL.

There is one other requirement we need to meet before the girls move on to Brownies next year, and that is to meet with a Brownie troop.  We are working on arranging that and will keep you posted.  We are aiming for something the week of April 20 - 28 in connection with Washington Township Clean Communities week to earn our rose petal for Make the World a Better Place.

Cassie is taking the trainings necessary to be able to take the girls camping and we are looking into scheduling an overnight camping trip in May or June.  We will see how it works out as we need to find a site that is approved by Girl Scouts.  It may end up just being a sleepover at Cassie's house.  ;)
